Wow! What a day!
After a hearty
breakfast provided by our hosts, we set off into the tropical rainforest for a walk amongst the wildlife. We were able to get up really close and personal with Pademelons, Musky Rat Kangaroos, Yellow Footed Scrub Fowl, Macleays Honeyeaters, Emerald Doves, Cat Birds and Brush Turkeys. An awesome experience!
This picture shows David and myself with a Pademelon and an Emerald Dove.

In the afternoon we walked up a section of road through the World Heritage listed rainforest of Mt Lewis where we came upon a small Taipan laying in the sun on the side of the road. We did not get up close and personal with this beautiful but deadly reptile.
Wow - it sounds like a truly amazing experience. I think we might visit Thylogale on our next trip up North....
