A Bushwalker's Diary

I am a very keen bushwalker who is fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world, Tamborine Mountain in South East Queensland, Australia.

Not only is it a great spot to live, the bushwalking possibilities within an hour's drive from here are endless. I walk on a regular basis with a club, the Tamborine Mountain Bushwalkers, and I also do independent walks.

I am a Vietnam Veteran and each year I go on a trek with two great mates who are also Veterans. We were all in Three Troop, 1 Field Squadron together and so call ourselves the 'Three Troop Trekkers'. We have trekked in Nepal, walked the Thorsborne Trail on Hinchenbrook Island in North Queensland, sections of the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory, as well as many walks in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. Last year, instead of trekking, we paddled for seven days down the Murray River in kayaks from Tocumwal to Echuca.

The idea of this blog is to give a regular update on the walks I do, write ups of previous walks that I have done, plus I would like to hear from other walkers who share my passion.
